My Russian Bargain Force

I mentioned the PSC 28mm WWII Russian Infantry I picked up cheaply at the tail end of my previous post, tonight just a few more WIP pictures. They should be ready for a full parade very soon!

First two images are some more "before and after" shots of my "enhanced" paint work.

3D printed female soldier alongside the PSC female medic.

3D printed, PSC and Wargames Factory 28mm grenade thrower

3D printed, Wargames Factory and PSC standing firing pose.

Wargames Factory and PSC kneeling firing pose.

Wargames Factory and PSC SMG pose.

Wargames Factory and PSC officer.

I think they all work quite nicely together and given I have about thirty of the 3d prints, roughly the same number of Wargames Factory figures, plus fifty-eight PSC now, that's probably as many as I need for an early Ostfront (think Barbarossa 1941) force to oppose the Blitzkrieg Germans - now I just need a couple of T26 tanks and maybe an armoured car and a T34......oh dear!

Time for me to flutter off - thanks for dropping by!

  1. Lovely - but don’t forget the air support - you haven’t spent nearly enough yet!

  4. Nice work Keith and your extra highlights etc really do make a big difference. I remember the early PSC figures that were quite static and lacking detail compared to more recent offerings, but they're still good figures, only needing some TLC on the paint front to make them pop more. Air and Tank support always a must of course for any support;)!

    1. Thanks Steve. Unfortunately, PSC seem to have decided there is/was too much competition in the 28mm space, and they no longer produce anything much in this scale 😢 So, I will have to look elsewhere fir any additional support (Same seems to be true of the Wargames Factory figures, now part of the Warlord conglomerate of course...)

  6. They certainly look as if they fit together well scale wise and a useful 'go to' to swell the massed ranks.

  8. Seems to me that low cost and numerous is about right for Early War Soviets...the brushwork certainly is not on the low end, though!

    1. Cheers Stew...we all seem to agree, they are all pretty much on a par in terms of size/scale...which isn't always the case with 28mm metal figures 😉
