18th Century Civilians

Painted about a month ago, before my overseas visitors arrived, but been waiting for their appointment with the photo booth!

Very nice figures from the brothers Perry - there are two small boys too, that I may do later - they just did not grab me when I was painting the adults, for some reason.

Not an awful lot to say about them, hopefully, one day, I will be able to use them in an AWI game!

  1. Great work Keith. I especially like the 5 o'clock shadow on the guy carrying the barrel.

    1. Cheers Lawrence - glad you liked that - some people seem to have half their armies with the blue chins, but I only do it very occasionally!

    1. Thanks Mark - in truth, I am not really back yet - since ending my holiday and going back to work, the painting mojo has been somewhat absent - I have tidied up the 3d printed 10mm Romans and today undercoated the first batch, but not sure I can be bothered going back to the desk tonight to get working on them....

  3. Those AWI civilians look great, Keith. Interestingly, I recently ordered a couple of horse drawn carts from their AWI range. I had intended using them for my Bushy Run game, but later found out they only use pack horses due to the rugged terrain.

    1. Thanks Dean! Shame about the carts, but I am sure you will find a use for them in a different scenario!

  11. Interesting group. I could see the fellow with the cask, in particular, being a prompt for a game.

  18. Lovely work Keith! Civvies are so often overlooked on the tabletop but they so help to set the scene. It's also quite good fun painting clothing of totally different patterns to the military uniforms. I found that painting women's dresses on 18th Century figure allowed some interesting depths of colour due to the deep folds of cloth. Best wishes, Jason

    1. Cheers Jason - I do recall you painting up the Warlord LotM Munro sisters some time ago and commenting on it at the time! I totally agree with you about civilians on the table, too!
