A few images of the figures that were included in the recent Red Army tank reinforcement!
Three dismounted crew - seem to be 3d prints?

"Fire!"
A couple of females - yay!
The one on the left seems to be almost exactly the same figure that comes with the T34 kit, apart from facial expression? See below.
I have actually built all three T34/76 - a very simple kit of only about 25-30 parts - almost but not quite as straight forward as Armourfast!
You may recall the 3d printed Kubelwagon I received from Pot Belly Miniatures in Wellington recently was more like 1/48 scale? Well, the guy very kindly replaced it with a smaller version, which is another very nice model!
Finally, a bit more Tourism work - images from a recent (13 June) fishing trip with some customers
Leaving Auckland Westhaven marina around 0645
About 90 minutes later, we were in position to start the action!
A good few snappers were caught throughout the day, although not the max limit of seven per rod on the boat ....
We had seventy between us, which gave us each around 5 - 6 fish, so 11 fillets each to take home.
The crewman filleted them on the way back for $3 a fish!
Back into the marina and off home around 1500
Thanks for dropping by, and extra kudos to all those who leave a comment!
Very nice figures there Keith:). The dismounted tank crew look like resin castings to me, rather than 3D prints. Either way they are really nice poses! Nice to get a replacement Kubelwagen at the right scale, so kudos to the guy for doing that. Looks like a nice fishing trip and hopefully it wasn't too cold, given you are in Winter...
ReplyDeleteThanks Steve - you are probably correct re the figures - I just know they aren't metal!
DeleteI was worried about the fishing - as I left home around 0515, there was literally thunder and lightning going on - and on the first half of the 50km drive, it was torrential rain, but.... as you can see from the images, it all cleared away by the time we were due to depart, and although hardly balmy, it was probably 12-15 deg C so perfectly acceptable temp wise!
Oh, lovely tankers!
ReplyDeleteI think so too, Michal!
DeleteGood looking sculpts! Taking customers out fishing for snapper? What a life you lead!
ReplyDeleteYes they are indeed, Jon. We try to do thr fishing once per year, it's a good day usually... but it's quite a hassle to actually organize...as it was, we had 8 people (of 14) pull out the day before, and had to scramble to find some replacements!
DeleteExcellent looking Soviet crew and a good looking kublewagon replacement, my Rubicon T34s are sitting in their boxes as there are so many parts! Are you actually working for the Tourist board now?
ReplyDeleteBest Iain
Thanks Iain.... now you have the lovely female crew from Bad Squiddo, I expect to see a T34 assembled quick smart! Unfortunately, all my work promoting New Zealand as a tourist destination is unpaid ....
DeleteNice looking figures Keith and very useful for your project, A fair haul of snapper too!
ReplyDeleteCheers Donnie, not sure how often I will need the dismounted crew, but they are lovely figures! We ate fish three times on what I brought home, so well worth the "effort "!
DeleteThe figures are lovely and the scenery is beautiful - but what’s it like down there for crisps? Are there any special NZ flavours? Asking for a friend.
ReplyDeleteThanks JBM. NZ lags well behind more advanced countries on the chip (crisp) front. Things are improving slightly but when I first arrived in 1989, they had about three flavours...ready salted, salt and vinegar, and chicken! Common ones that have been added since are green onion, sour cream and chives, and a few others...but nothing like the vast range we had in the UK prior to my departure...and certainly nothing to compare with the panoply of flavors available in France 🇫🇷. Also note...we call them chips...we also call the fried potatoes you get with fish or steak chips...except the latter, we have to call hot chips, to differentiate them from crisps (but only when confusion is possible...you don't need to order hot chips in a restaurant...it's given!)
DeleteNice additions Keith with some great detail, especially on the faces, and they look like they will paint up well. Paying someone $3 per fish to fillet them seems like a good deal to me.
ReplyDeleteCheers Lawrence...agree, the animation on these figures is outstanding!
DeleteAs to the cost of fileting...particularly attractive when our company was paying the fee!
