Friday Night - "Bloodrage" Fantasy Boardgame

Just a few pics of a boardgame Julian, John and I played on Friday - Bloodrage.

We have played before, it's based on Norse mythology, about which I know nothing, and is the "End Times" of three ages leading up to Ragnarök - or something like that!

The board

Various warbands

Needless to say, I had the Serpents band - all female warriors below!

Some of the monsters that may or may not come into play

Julian activated a Troll - in this combat, my leader, backed up by the fleet, defeated the hideous creature!

Julian also activated this Fire Giant who was a bit of a handful to be honest - when he "invaded" a province, he automatically sent all figures already there straight off to Valhalla!

In this instance, a lone female warrior managed to defeat him, though!

The end of the game - counters around the edge keep track of "glory" points gained by winning battles, achieving quests etc - Julian blue in the bottom left won - I was yellow on 75, John was somewhere further back - he really didn't like the game much!

Off to a "proper" wargame at Barrys on Sunday, Back of Beyond using Andrews rules and various different factions - should be fun!

  1. That looks like a colourful and fun game Keith. Looks like a bit of work has gone into painting the figures.

    1. Thanks Lawrence - its fine once and a while; I prefer this one to Zombicide I think, although John can't get his head around it - there ARE a LOT of options when deciding what cards to keep in your hand etc.
The figures are a great advert for speed paints - that's what Julian now uses and the improvement in the look of his figures is fantastic- as you can see by the faces etc for a start!

  3. The painted figures would add to the gaming experience.

    1. They certainly do from my perspective, Peter - plain grey plastic figures would be half the fun in my opinion!
