Another Terrain Update

I had meant to get a solo game in over the last few days but every time I thought about it, I thought I wanted to use the new 28mm ruined buildings, and then I thought they are not all finished yet, so instead of a game, I carried on the slow process of titivating them!

They are almost done now, but need some work on the recently added bases, so once again, not quite ready for a game (which I did actually set up around 7pm but then our son arrived home from a hunting trip and I felt obliged to stop and chat with him for a bit, then he was hauling dirty clothes etc through the garage where I was intending to play, and by the time he was all done, the moment had passed and I just took some photos of all the buildings and packed everything away again!)

So, here are some pics!

This was the game I was going to play - Soviet advance out of the tank factory and into the ruins of Stalingrad!

And following are the 8 ruined buildings from various angles - 3 x 3 story and 5 x 4 story.

I am quite pleased with how they have turned out but of course, I still want more! After all, these look fine on my small solo table, but they would hardly look like much of a "city" in Barrys 18' x 6' table! I am thinking I might get another set of the 3 x 3 plus a set of 5 x 2 story ruins. I also used one of the 4 story mdf as a template and traced it onto a 300mm x 300mm cork tile, so that's another possible option....watch this space!

I will try to get a game in over the next few days, it is long overdue. In the meantime, thanks for checking out my latest post!

  4. This shows a lot of devastation. Why are the backsides of all buildings blown out and never the street facing facades?

    1. To be fair to the designers, only 2 or 3 of the 8 buildings have a ground level door, so the rest could easily be a side or back wall, Jon.They are only orientated the way they are because I put them that way.

  5. Good solution to the taking of building by building that the grind of city fighting demands.

  6. The ruined buildings look great and for a Stalingrad game you will always need more

  8. Yeah I reckon you could knock out a gazillion of these using cork tiles. Worth a go isn’t it?

  10. That looks great Keith. Not sure how many you would need to fill Barry's table but you would be building them for a long time! Maybe concentrate on building scatter terrain instead?

I think the small size will be fun to play on and provide lots of interesting action.
