So, as promised, a break from the Tourist Board and back to some wargaming content - the 3d printed bridge that arrived from Temu recently.
You will have to forgive the background, my jerry-built photo box doesn't have any back grounds long enough to accommodate the whole bridge - so there are some patches of bare cardboard - despite that, however, I don't think the bridge itself looks half bad!

Three span intact and have destroyed
Obviously, it's possible to combine all four parts, but they would be too long for my photo box!
Useful for multiple era's
And if you like the model, I think it is even cheaper at the moment - halve the $NZ value to turn it into GBP or USD
It's been quite warm here of late - I took this image when getting into the car midday Monday (temp shown top centre)
And with the nice spring weather has come the first few home-grown strawberries - even my son said they were nice and sweet!
I won't inflict any more S Island holiday snaps on you tonight - but there are still two days' worth to get through!

DeleteThat bridge has come out really well and nice that you can combine the sections as required. Incredible value as well! Strawberries in late Spring? It shows how different the climate is down there as ours wouldn't be ready until mid-summer, unless under a polytunnel. Assuming the slugs and snails hadn't eaten them first!
ReplyDeleteCheers Steve - yes Spring is Sept Oct Nov although I am not convinced summer should start on Dec 1 as we often don't get our "perfect" weather till Jan. We do still have to worry about birds and slugs etc nicking the strawbs!
DeleteThe bridge looks great Keith and a very handy piece, I like the idea that you can expand it or make it a ruined one, works well. Lovely looking strawberries, I had a great crop this year very happy with them but a distant memory now!! Enjoy yours!

ReplyDeleteThank you Jon! It does take a bit of looking, because 90% of the 3d printed stuff is pure sci-fi or fantasy and not any good for historical, but there are some things - like this bridge- that work perfectly for historical too.

ReplyDeleteThe bridge looks great! We had our first go at growing strawberries this year as well - we lost the first few when a deer came through our yard and cropped the whole bush but once we got some protective fencing up we had a nice crop through the summer!

DeleteActually we do Keith, or we would if we lived about 100yds nearer to the open fields by us, where deer are frequently seen. I've even spotted one on a roundabout (with trees) in a BUA nearby and used to see them near the centre of Bristol when I cycled to work. Oh and these are Roe deer, not Muntjacs, which we have too.

Thanks Aly....it is a nice piece of kit! First, it was hard plastic, now it is 3d prints....what's next....an AI that I can just type a description and figure scale into online and a printer somewhere spits it out and sends it to me by courier anywhere in the world?!
DeleteTemu is my go to these days. Prices are good and I’ve not yet been dissapointed with the quality. Bridge looks ace!

DeleteWe don't have any "predators", just pests eg slugs. Birds would eat them but I have nets to hopefully prevent that!
