Hi All, it has not been a very productive time recently – I have
been binge watching a couple of shows on TV – firstly the BBC Series “Musketeers”
from around 2015 I think (some good ideas/inspiration there for a skirmish level
collection!) and then latterly, its been the five series of Ripper Street – I am
only about two thirds of the way through this!
The net outcome is virtually no output from the painting
table, but I have managed to do these four Colonial Brits – all Zulu war Brits
in red coats
Also as we moved from Level 3 lock down to the more relaxed
Level 2, I have taken the dog to the other side of town for a walk at a local “reserve”
– here are a few images of that to
Apologies for the brevity of comments - I am doing this at work and need to complete as quickly as possible before someone asks me what I am actually doing :)
Well, at least you managed to complete something there Keith to keep the production line running. Mice work Keith.
ReplyDeleteCheers Lawrence....to be honest, I did all of these from start to finish in one day...if I had not been so slack I could doubtless have painted all sixteen in the period since my previous post.....but appreciate your supportive comments!
ReplyDeleteThey are nice characterful figures Keith...
ReplyDeleteAnd beautiful countryside as well
All the best. Aly
Thanks Aly....these are some of the better Old Glory figures in my opinion
DeleteGood work on the painting front! Some work at the painting station is better than none. A few weeks ago, a became hooked on a Netflix series on F1 racing. I binged watched two seasons in about a week. It was great!
ReplyDeleteGood looking photos from your walk in the woods. Reminds me of the dense woods along the pacific coast of Washington and Oregon over here.
While still on lockdown here, dentists finally opened yesterday provided they maintain proper protocols and have plenty of PPE.
Thank you Jonathon.... I have another day off tomorrow... I was obliged to take two leave days in May as my employer had decided they will only pay is 90% of our salary this month...as its my daughters 21st birthday tomorrow, I chose that day as one of them...the other, I already took about ten days ago. So I may get some time tomorrow to hit the painting desk!
DeleteGreat characters for the Zulu war Keith. Enjoy the painting time.
ReplyDeleteCheers
Stu
Cheers Stu....it's 8am Weds here and just about to sit down at the painting desk😊
ReplyDeleteGreat looking and iconic British!
ReplyDeleteThanks Dean..currently half way through the next batch of five
DeleteGreat stuff, I am sure some Zulu warriors will sort them out!
ReplyDeleteCheers
Matt
Thanks Matt..not sure we have any 28mm Zulus in our group...sounds like a project for someone!
DeleteThe Three Musketeers would make a great setting for a skirmish game and Redoubt Miniatures used to have a large collection of figures for this. Sadly, I don't think they are trading anymore and not sure if anyone else does this period.
ReplyDeleteThanks Pat...there are two or three manufacturers out there who "do" The Musketeers...Warbases actually make figures based on the BBC series...and I am pretty sure Redoubt are still available...or else, the web site is misleading, as it certainly seems to be still active!
Delete4 figures are better than no figures, it's still progress. I quite liked the Musketeers, once I got over the stupid costumes everyone wore.
ReplyDeleteVery good point Ray...I will take that! Yes I liked The Musketeers...lots of strong female characters that I could paint up for a skirmish game!
DeleteNice progress. I really like the background photo it perfectly matches miniatures:)
ReplyDeleteThanks Dmitry...for the background, I copied an idea from a friend and used Google Earth...it is actually desert somewhere near Phoenix Arizona...but could be any desert anywhere!
DeleteGreat looking Zulu war Brits! It can't always be regiments of Highlanders!
ReplyDeleteBest Iain
Thanks Iain...you are quite right, I am sure I have a disproportionate number of Highland units in my collections....its just that tartan and diced hose are so much fun to paint!
