Over the weekend, I finished the second batch of 20 Warlord hard plastic American Militiamen. So, I now have all forty pained, on 8 bases of five figures per base
After my previous post on the militia...
.... I took onboard the collective wisdom of the net.....
.... and painted up units of militiamen in mixed clothing
I figured a lot of officers may, like Washington, have seen previous action in British uniforms during the FIW
Hence a couple of the militia officers look like they have pulled their old regimentals out of the cupboard!
The full parade of the newest additions to the AWI collection
More continentals next time!
Beautiful looking militia!
ReplyDeleteThanks Michal
DeleteThey look great Keith. Love the mixed dress!
ReplyDeleteCheers Ray, I recall you voted in favour of the mixed dress!
DeleteThey look great Keith
ReplyDeleteThanks a lot Scotty.
DeleteReady to muster on Concord Green!
ReplyDeleteDon't think I have enough of them yet for that Ed....but perhaps they can defend a railfence against a column of light infantry at Bunker Hill??
DeleteYou have used a nice assortment of colour among the militia Keith. Much harder than painting regulars. Beautifully done.
ReplyDeleteThanks Lawrence....I didn't use to agree about the problem with painting irregular clothing such as dark ages etc, but I did find these militia a bit of a challenge...kept realizing I had missed the stockings on one or the powder horn on another! I am glad they are done, to be honest 😀
DeleteNicely done Keith…
ReplyDeleteThe red coats add a nice pop of colour…
All the best. Aly
Cheers Aly, that was what I thought, too!
DeleteGreat work Keith.
ReplyDeleteA scruffy collection of wretched traitors 😂
Cheers Ben, a perfect description...just the look and impression I was going for! 👌
DeleteThey look great, the mixed clothing works well.
ReplyDeleteThanks Donnie I think they look fine mixed together too
DeleteJust love those Keith:)!
ReplyDeleteThanks Steve...you should see them in action soon....keep watching!!
DeleteLooks good and the range of colors on the coats is convincing.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Joe, appreciate your comments.
DeleteYou are a painting machine, Keith! Figures look fab. Mustering 40 varied figures so quickly would “pain” me too!
ReplyDeleteVery kind Jon, but I think you are equally productive, and if you weren't playing 2 or 3 games every week, I am sure you would be mustering out painted troops far quicker than me!
DeleteGreat looking Militia, Keith. That kit definitely allows for some nice variations.
ReplyDeleteThanks dean and yes, I have the WSS infantry by Wargames Factory, which are OK, but these are much nicer!
DeleteLong love the mixed dress! Looking good like I knew it would. 😀
ReplyDeleteThanks Stew - glad you are not disappointed by my efforts!
DeleteNice looking bunch Keith!
ReplyDeleteThanks Mark...they have already been "blooded" in a small solo game.
DeleteGreat looking bunch of tax dodgers Keith!
ReplyDeleteThanks Chris, a very apt description.....although I did read a book about the HEIC last year, and a blatant attempt to secure their profits by giving them a monopoly on tea supplies to the 13 colonies seems to have been fairly prominent in the cause of all the unpleasantness
DeleteThe unit is very colourfull. It's looking excellent.
