Just a quick post tonight on the latest addition to the Revolutionary army - another Continental infantry regiment uniformed as per the 1779 regulations.
This time, the unit has white facings.
And here are a few pics of some more of the Middle Eastern/North African building I made for Barry recently. I had meant to put them all out on show once I dropped them off to him at last Sunday's game....but....I forgot, so these will have to suffice.
The last image has a 28mm figure for scale
Thanks for your visit - I am about 80% of the way through another twenty AWI militia, so hopefully they should be completed in a couple of days.
looking good
ReplyDeleteCheers Bruce!
Deletehow did you buildings finish up ? I'm currently chopping and changing some rendera ones
DeleteThey more or less ended up as you see them here, Bruce - they were delivered in this unfinished state to Barry, for him to paint up as he saw fit!
DeleteNicely done Keith you can never have enough continentals or militia !
ReplyDeleteOh I think I probably could, Matt, a batch of Perry figures just arrived at marks place.... 😀
DeleteBeautiful work sir!
ReplyDeleteYou are too kind Michal!
DeleteExcellent work on the Continentals Keith and they really are lovely sculpts, being rather more normally proportioned than the oft seen 'heroic' sizes. Nice to see those buildings to, which I was thinking of when I came across some cork sheeting and tile off cuts...
ReplyDeleteCheers Steve...they are nice figures! Would like to see what your expert model makers hands could do with the cork tiles ......
DeleteGreat looking Continentals, Keith. Love look of the regulation uniform.
ReplyDeleteThanks Daen, I like the 1779 uniforms too, but will probably add some of the earlier, varied coloured ones into the mix as well.
DeleteExcellent brushwork on the figures and damn fine work on the buildings too!
ReplyDeleteThanks Ray...I have some cork left over and may have a go at copying some of your Spanish style buildings in hhe recent Haiti game!
DeleteAnother lovely looking regiment and a great addition to your collection, they are nice figures, Your building turned out really well, look great.
ReplyDeleteCheers Donnie, glad you like the Continentals!
DeleteNice work on the Continentals
ReplyDeleteThanks Scotty!
DeleteI'm very much enjoying your AWI posts Keith. These look great, and Barry must have been pleased with those buildings.
ReplyDeleteCheers Lawrence, I think Barry was happy!
DeleteSharp looking Continentals, Keith!
ReplyDeleteThank you Jon, next lot will have buff coloured facings, I think 🤔
DeleteExcellent work Keith on the figures and buildings.
ReplyDeleteThanks a lot Ben.
DeleteThat's a smart looking unit Keith. Buildings look really good.
ReplyDeleteThank you on both counts Richard!
DeleteGreat job. I like the white facings. 😀
ReplyDeleteThanks Stew, they do look good, don't they?
DeleteThey look very nice. I have some AWI figures, not sure how to base them yet.
ReplyDeleteThanks OB, I have earlier units based as per my "groups" original style...units of 6 bases 30mm wide and 40mm deep....this has now evolved to 3 bases 60mm wide and 40mm deep...luckily, a unit is still 180mm wide, either way!
DeleteVery nice Keith…
ReplyDeleteAnother good choice of facings…. Simple but very effective.
All the best. Aly
Thanks Aly. The 1779 regulation uniforms do benefit from the advantage of simplicity...dark blue coats with either red, buff, white or lighter blue facings, depending on which state they are from.
DeleteAs mentioned earlier though, I will be doing some of the earlier uniforms too, such as brown faced red etc.
