I saw this on the BBC News web site t'other day and thought it might be of interest!
Sunderland wargaming group receives £5,000 to grow 'safe space' (bbc.com)
Back soon with something that takes a bit more effort :)
The bars on the windows look like they will make the space even safer. I thought it might have been a prison at first. Fair play to them though.
Good one!
I wonder how much they played up the isolated transgender youth angle in their funding application....but it reality, I suppose being a teenage wargamer could well be a lonely and socially isolated existence 🤔
I was wondering if remote gaming hosts can get in on this gravy train?
Sorry Jon, not unless you are hosting players from Gateshead or Sunderland! Try the Washington State government!
Well that's pretty cool! I wonder how much it now costs to run a club, given the hikes in rent due to utility bill increases etc?
I thought it was pretty cool too, Steve!
A nice windfall for the club and nice to see some positive news about wargamers without any of the usual journalistic approach.
It seemed like a reasonably written piece, Donnie!
