Now, in anticipation of an 8 player WW2 Ostfront game at Barrys next Sunday - I got my A into G and knocked out these 4 Red Army tanks I got a few months back in the discounted Achtung Panzer starter box (number 2)

A KV 1/2 on the left and three T34/76 - one is the Obr 1942 version and the other two the earlier version the Russians started the war with - different turrets are what sets them apart

Yesterday, five of us marked our daughter Amy's partner AJ's birthday at a local hostelry - a couple of drinks and this superb shared platter - even I thought this was good value at NZ $95 - when each of the constituent parts would set you back $20 to $25 each. The alcohol was still a rip off, but hey ho, that's what it is nowadays.

A few pix from the last day of our trip - these are just from the flight home - my wife was slagging me off, saying you would think I had never flown before! But I haven't ever flown up the S Island off the east coast before, and I thought the view was pretty cool.

Part of the Southern Alps - the mountain range goes on, and on... and on - basically the entire length of the S Island.
