What is likely to be the last of the AWI infantry is the 18th Continental (Massachusetts) Line Regiment, picked solely on the basis of having a "different" uniform.
In more flag controversy, I have used what is generally accepted as being one of the flags carried by the 2nd New Hampshire Regiment, for this regiment! Well, it's the right colour and I have not used it on any other AWI units so far - and I had it sitting in my "flag drawer!"
So, without further ado, here they are - mainly Warlord hard plastic, with a smattering of Perry's to make up the numbers
A nice, "different" looking uniform
And I do like the flag!
A rear view
And that's it - off to Julians after work tomorrow with a boot (trunk!) full of GNW figures, to have a larger run through of my GNW variant of Andrews rules - should be fun, and a report will likely follow on Saturday. Cheers for now.

Nice work Keith, I can see why you went for this regiment, really different uniform indeed, should look good on the battlefield.
ReplyDeleteCheers Donnie! The "Patriot" forces in the AWI are a particularly good source of "different " uniform designs and colours, which is something I like to aim for!
DeleteGreat work again sir!
ReplyDeleteThnk Michal!
DeleteI can see why you chose these chaps, as their uniform is rather nice, even though it is simple and quite muted compared to some. As for the flag, the "where you there?" maxim works once again;)!
ReplyDeleteThanks Steve. I did consider making some small changes to the flag so that it wasn't exactly the same as the NH one, but decided it really didn't matter!
DeleteI like the flag too! And, of course, your latest regiment as well.
ReplyDeleteThank you Jon!
DeleteGood choice. That's the good thing about the rebels. Took a good while to get too uniform! Love the flag too.
ReplyDeleteExactly Chris....I could paint them all in the Continental Regulations uniform where the only difference is facing colours, but where is the fun in that?!
DeleteLovely work as usual, Keith.
ReplyDeleteThanks a lot Richard, I appreciate it!
DeleteOne of the nice things about the AWI is the number of variations it throws up on the Continental side. Great work Keith.
ReplyDeleteIt is indeed, Lawrence....and thanks!
DeleteWhat a fab coloured uniform. Nicely painted Keith!
ReplyDeleteCheers Ray, it's a good 'un, innit?!
DeleteLike the flag, like the uniforms. Another lovely addition to the ranks mate.
ReplyDeleteThank you Dai.
DeleteVery smart, indeed. Although nobody from 'round here, New Hampshire, would want to be taken for a denizen of Mass, for tabletop purposes, N.H. is next door to Mass, so the flag works well enough.
ReplyDeleteHaha, thanks Ed, I am sure you are much more careful when allocating appropriate standards to your Patriot units!
DeleteGreat work Keith. You should have kept the flag difference a secret and see if anyone noticed 😁
ReplyDeletePS... a good snowy camouflage uniform... although the flag flapping about above them may give the game away. 😁
DeleteThanks Ben, I am sure many people would have known it was the wrong flag, although probably too polite to point it out to me!
DeleteNice work, always good to see different uniforms for the AWI
ReplyDeleteThanks Scotty - that's my view, too!
DeleteKeith, another fine unit for the next game. Flag drawer? Color me jealous.
ReplyDeleteThank you Joe - don't for one second imagine I have invested any of my hard earned cash in lots of fancy flags by GMB etc - I just Google them, copy them onto paint, size them appropriately and print them off on a word document on the colour printer at work - so I always do far more of everything than I will ever need!
DeleteLovely unit Keith. You must have most of the Continental army by now...and I can add the rest!
ReplyDeleteYes Mark, it started off as "a few" units so I had some local opposition for my Crown forces, now, I may have more Patriots than I do their enemy! I probably should get a couple of guns though....!
DeleteMore great looking AWI figs, Keith! Love the buff coats.
ReplyDeleteThanks a lot Dean - the coat colour was what drew me to painting this unit!
