Border Reivers "Bastle Burners"

These are the four “Bastle Burner” figures from Col Bills Border Reivers range.

The first figure has made a previous appearance in a size comparison with the Hoka Hey miniatures, but as he is part of the pack of four figures, I thought it would be rude to leave him out of the team photo!

There is one image of each of the four figures, then a group shot of them engaged in their nefarious employment. I am sure they will add a certain something to any future Border Reivers games in which they are involved.

    1. Thanks Iain - lacking your classical education, I had to Google that phrase! Yes I think these figures could be useful in all sorts of renaissance settings, including ECW sieges etc….

  7. Nice work Keith and I like the way you have depicted the fire on the torches. I have recently tried the same with some Roman incendiary pigs, but it ended up looking like a bit like the German flag.

    1. Thanks Lawrence - one worked better than the other I felt - so I redid the second one before I took the pics! A kind of manual photo shopping....

    2. Lawrence, very good I didn't have a mouthful of drink when reading your comment. The contents would have spewed all over my keyboard from laughter. Nice one!

    1. Thanks Stu - definitely - and as Iain pointed out, they could also do double duty as Witch Burners....or Catholic/Protestant heretic burners.... depending on which monarch was on the throne at the time - Henry, Mary, Elizabeth or James!
