A Few More Siberia Miniatures RCW Figures Completed

Over the weekend I finished off the last of the ten-man infantry pack plus half of the LMG (Lewis) gunners, with both the HMG crews still to come. As most of the MG teams come with separate heads, I took the opportunity to swap a couple of them for female versions, to add a bit of support to the female Bolshevik unit(s)!

All eight figures, based in pairs on FoW plastic bases

Two female Lewis gunners - heads are by Victoria Miniatures (I think - its a while since I acquired them!)

Short and sweet tonight! Next on the painting table are a five man dismounted armoured car crew, plus three unusual female figures donated by Julian - they came as part of a "defending the Dacha" set he bought - but he wasn't keen on the fairer sex and passed them on to me as "you like this kind of thing!"
Stay safe and healthy and enjoy life!

    1. Yes, I confess Iain - its all true! My whole foray into Pulp was driven primarily by the fact it would give me an excuse to buy all sorts of unusual female figures from Copplestone, Bad Squiddo, Reaper etc that I had coveted for years but never had any use for!

  2. Yeah I’ve definitely noticed a trend developing on the female fighters front too. Lol. Great work on the head swaps - way to fiddly a job for my clumsy hands of death though. Kudos.

    1. Mea Culpa to you too JBM! The heads were easy, because the figures were cast headless with a hole into which to fit a peg/neck of a separate head - I just used different separate heads!

  3. A lovely mix of poses there Keith, with the Lewis gunners particularly catching my eye. I'm certainly looking forward to seeing the armoured car crew, which should be good:).

    1. Thanks Steve - the armoured car crew are indeed nice models and strangely, somewhat closer in scale to other 28mm manufacturers.... possibly a different sculptor?

  4. Reds that look like they came right out of central casting and costuming for Dr. Zhivago--wouldn't be surprised to see Omar Sharif next!

  5. Very nice and nothing wrong with adding a few of the fairer sex to your collection

  6. I have also noticed your tendency (obsession?) toward fielding female figures. Your latest batch all look great. Not sure the gunner could actually pick up and carry her weapon.

    1. I blame Shadowforge and their Valkyries Jon! I created an entire army of female Vikings using their figures about fifteen years ago....before that, all my toy soldiers were boys!

  7. Those are lovely, nice castings. I imagine supply might be an issue until the war in Ukraine is over. Lovely paint job. Cheers Stu

    1. Thanks Stu. I probably won't be buying any more anyway but this order, made in Jan or Feb, had to come via the EU and Julans daughter in Oxford, as the supplier could not get it out any other route!

  9. More lovely figures Keith, and great use of the FoW bases. They look like they were made for the part.

    1. Cheers Lawrence ... I normally put three figures per base for this project but three of these would have been too closely packed for my liking....the pay off is, more bases for the same number of figures!

  10. I can’t keep up with this barrage of posts.
Your friend Julian made painting miniatures sound WAY more dirty and exciting than it actually is; no matter if the subject matter are unusual ladies. 😀

  12. This is really coming along quickly. Lovely work. I wouldn't fancy lifting those machine guns... probably put my back out!

    1. Thanks Richard! I agree about the Lewis Guns....I think sculptors have a tendency to simplify them and make them a lot more "robust" than they actually were ...I am pretty sure they would be nothing like this bulky looking in real life....although I could be wrong!
