I have managed to paint up a few of the Siberia Miniatures RCW infantry who arrived vis my mate Julian recently. These are the Krasniya Armiya infantrymen. VERY large 28mm figures but kept away from other brands, they should work fine on the table. I think they have turned out rather nicely.
I have about a dozen more of these figures, riflemen and LMG gunners, half painted at the moment. As the weather appears to be similar for tomorrow, its likely I will get some or all of these completed then.
Hope all is well with you and thanks for stopping by for a look!
Your new Russians are big and beautiful. Wearing greatcoat, I imagine they were quick to paint too,
ReplyDeleteThanks Jon - yes, a reasonably quick paint job on these
DeleteVery cool. Certainly look forward to seeing your force in action.
ReplyDeleteThanks Joe - I did consider a small solo game actually - we shall see! My mate Julian just bought a whole "army" of 1920 Poles, as he is keen to pit them against invading (or defending) Bolsheviks - so at some point my boys may get a game there - that's a while off though I would assume, not least because Julian is currently in the US for a month!
DeleteThey do look good and always nice to see some troops in great coats for some visual variety:).
ReplyDeleteCheers Steve....a large number of my RCW troops are in greatcoats, could even be 50% of them....they do look nice for a change!
DeleteYou’ll be getting more painting done as the weather deteriorates I suspect. Strange to think it’s your winter and our summer. The Russkies look great 😊
ReplyDeleteEven after over thirty years, I still find it hard to think of Christmas being the start of our summer holiday season JBM! Of course, "winter" is relative, today, for example, it's sunny and already around 16 deg c at 9am. We will certainly have some miserable weather over the next three to four months, but we will have plenty of warm, sunny days too....unlike certain countries I grew up in!
DeleteThey look very nice and tempted to get a few myself
ReplyDeleteI would recommend the field gun that is available from Caliver under the Minifigs section, Scotty. It can operate as a stand alone unit, so the larger size of the figures is less obvious
DeleteGood looking Russians. Is it me or does one of them look a little like Tom Hanks? Nothing like troops in greatcoats to improve the figure/time ratio.
ReplyDeleteHaha....I think you may be right Richard...."Saving Private Rynovski"?!
DeleteBeautiful looking new Russians!
ReplyDeleteThanks Michal!
DeleteRussians in greatcoats always look good. Lovely work Keith, and I like the colours you have selected for them.
ReplyDeleteCheers Lawrence .... I thought a bit if variety added a level of interest!
DeleteVery nicely done!
ReplyDeleteThanks Ben
DeleteGreat looking big-Ruskies in fur caps, Keith! Large is good.
ReplyDeleteHaha....thanks Dean
DeleteI’ve heard that everything in Siberia is bigger do ot makes sense that it’s 28mm minis are on the large side. 😀
ReplyDeleteLol...a good point there Stew....they are indeed "larger than life"!
