Most of these Minairons Republican infantry have been gradually making their way across the painting desk for a fortnight - several were completed over a week ago but most have just had the basing finished off this evening, which was perfect timing, as shall be revealed!
This HMG is actually from the previous pack - Republican HQ and Support
Here are the fifteen Republican infantry, in three groups of five....
I did not bother doing fifteen individual close ups this time
For a bit of variety, I have also painted up the first three of "those" figures donated by my buddy Julian, as shown below in STP web site images....
And here they are - I am thinking the one in white with the book under her arm might be some kind of scientist trying to escape with vital plans - whether she is a goody or baddy can be left to the scenario...
As for the other two - who knows, just generic females - I will work them into a game by hook or by crook....in fact, that phrase reminds me, I think the one with the sword looks very like a pantomime "girl playing male lead" character - Peter Pan perhaps?!
As for this one, her pose says it all - got to be some kind of femme fatale with powers to distract any male enemy figure!
Finally, I mentioned good timing in relation to getting the SCW Republican infantry finished - and that is because .....ta da - the next batch of Minairons figures arrived today from Espagna!
Primarily Nationalists this time, this should help balance out the forces - although the Nationalists may now predominate....
The smaller packs contain a mix of both sides gun crews and mortars, plus Republican vehicle riders and dispatch riders on motorcycles!
Thanks for your visit and any comments left will be gratefully appreciated!
I really like the figure showing off one leg with a gun hidden behind the other. Nice work as usual Keith, and you seem to have enough with the new arrivals to keep you going for a while.
ReplyDeleteThanks Lawrence, yes, I am hoping that is the case vis a vis the reinforcements, as I may have to take a break from investing in more stuff for a while, if our economy doesn't pick up a bit soon and provide me with some incentive payments to top up my base salary!
DeleteNice to see more Republicans across the painting table and now on to the Nationalists. You must be getting to the point of getting a game in shortly with these
ReplyDeleteThanks Scotty....it may have to be a small scale solo but hopefully not too far off!
DeleteNice to see this SCW force fleshing out. I’m surprised more people don’t game the period.
ReplyDeleteThanks JBM, my interest is driven by the figures, to be honest, but the little I now know about the period is actually quite depressing!
DeleteGood looking Republicans and the principle boy looks good, oh no she doesn't! Sorry couldn't resist it!
ReplyDeleteBest Iain
Thanks Iain....they,re behind you, they're behind you...!😀
DeleteKeith, you sure have a steady stream of goodies coming in. Well, everything except for your long lost Brigade Games order!
ReplyDeleteWell, it's very nearly the first of July, so we shall see what we shall see from Lon at Brigade Games, Jon.....
DeleteSuperb figures, I do like the civilians and the 'male distractions'...
ReplyDeleteThank you Phil
DeleteGreat progress on your SCW project. All the figures and equipment will provide lots of options for scenarios.
ReplyDeleteThey should indeed Joe, hopefully a game isn't too far off
DeleteA nice new batch of stuff there Keith and I like the mix of the metal pulp figures, with the one holding a sledgehammer being my favourite. The SCW vehicles are great, with a good mix of home made AFV's plus all those slogans etc that covered them at times.
ReplyDeleteThanks Steve, yes, I need some of the uniquely Spanish AFV's at some point, then I can add the appropriate graffiti !
DeleteOh, I meant to say, the unpainted images are from the STP website....I don't have the guy with the pistol or the one you like, with the 16lb master key, Steve!
DeleteBea looking Republicans and others sir!
ReplyDeleteBest regards
Thanks Michal!
DeleteExcellent work! You have been very productive. The femme fatale would definitely be a dangerous distraction!
ReplyDeleteCheers Ben, I am hoping I can work into a scenario in that role!
DeleteWow, you are certainly well supplied with figures now! I like how you’ve painted up this latest batch of ladies. They’ll add lots of fun to a game table. 😀
ReplyDeleteThanks Stew, I certainly have a genuine lead pile for the first time in recent history!
DeleteThat collection is really building up Keith. In these days of disrupted supply chains it is good to have some “stock on hand”…I have enough to see me through to the end of September.
ReplyDeleteWell, knowing your usual rate of productivity Mark, that must be quite a stash of figures!
DeleteNicely done Keith 👍
ReplyDeleteWonderful stuff Keith, good to see the mail man is keeping business in your house, the new additions look great, the collection is really building up now.
ReplyDeleteCheers
Stu
Cheers Stew - yes, about another forty odd Nationalist troops to add to the mix - plus I have a few others coming from a different supplier in the UK...
DeleteNicely worked SCW figures to add to your ever growing collection Keith. Looking good.
ReplyDeleteThanks Richard, appreciate your visit and comments!
DeleteLovely looking toys Keith….
ReplyDeleteYour Spanish Civil War collection is building up nicely…
All the best. Aly
