A Trio of Completed Border Reivers

Ok, here we go again! Tonight in an effort to overcome Blogger II resistance, I am taking a tip from Jonathan (whether he intended this or not!) and am writing all this in Word prior to copying and pasting it into Blogger – lets see if that makes things any easier!

Following are the three latest additions to my Border Reiver collection, fresh of the painting desk. Two more have been completed this evening but are just setting to their bases prior to finishing them off tomorrow – they will probably appear on the Blog on Friday or Saturday.

OK that seems to have gone without a hitch - changing font colour or any of the other issues experienced last time – but I am not going to tempt fate so that’s it for tonight!

  1. Great figures Keith! Cut and paste from Word might be the way to go, but won't know until my first post, which is partially done and so far it's OK, famous last words!

    1. Thanks Steve - its still not as easy as the old Blogger was, but seem to be getting the hang of it - posting a game report with 20+ images and trying to have descriptions under each image may be a challenge when we eventually get a face to face game again!

  2. Figures look great, Keith, and I like the swordsmen in buffcoat a lot. As for the post and blogger, the result looks good!

    1. Thanks Jonathan, they are lovely big figures and easy to paint. I have just thought, my next experiment with Blogger might be to construct the entire post including pictures in Word first, then copy and paste the entire thing...

  4. Great stuff Keith, great additions to your Borders collection. Glad to see you have overcome the Blogger issues, I agree the loading of photo's and cut and pasting issues make it a poorer experience, you do wonder about the quality testing that goes into it...

    1. Thanks Stu...I get the impression that people who understand the way the program works - like Jonathon or Mark- don't have too many problems....it just isn't as intuitive as the original version.....

  5. Great figures again Keith, and nice to see you found a way around the blogger issue. It is a shame that we have to resort to these workaround and I have noticed the default picture sizes have changed. I know how to at least edit this in HTML and could do a 'find and replace', but figured that I really can't be bothered mucking around with this so just accept what I am given. What I did find most amusing was before Jonathan gave us the solution on how to rectify the thumbnail issue I was Googling potential solutions online and found several complaining posts from other wargamers with sites I had never heard of before. Perhaps we really are the vocal minority, although it was more likely the Google search algorithm driving me to these forums.

    1. Thanks Lawrence, yes they are great figures - pity the sculptor is no longer with us - the range will never be added to with figures that match his style....I wonder if some of the early Blogger II issues have actually been resolved EG I don't have to resize my images - they turn up as links on other peoples blogs again now, whereas a couple of weeks ago, they were not - although I notice it is not instantaneous - I create my post and the new image etc does not appear on 1866 or Palouse for an hour or so...not that it matters, but its a noticeable difference to the status quo ante!

  6. Lovely looking 16th century types, the swordsman in buff is particularly striking!

  7. Some dour looking borderers there Keith...

I do get the feeling that the new blogger is still a work in progress...

    All the best. Aly
