Some New Stuff

 My box of Perry hard plastic Sudanese infantry turned up today, so they will likely start featuring in posts soon - I still have the second batch of Brigade Swashbuckling ladies plus the Copplestone Pulp Turks to finish off first. In actual fact, most of these are already done, but I have run out of 10c coins to base them on! I have ordered a resupply - 100 old 2c coins (the same coins from 20 years ago!) for $8.50 - so, a saving of $1.50 for the same number of bases :) Until they arrive, though, I am somewhat stymied.



In addition to the planned Perry arrival, I had an impromptu purchase from our local eBay equivalent, Trade Me. I may struggle to use these, but they looked so cool and had already been listed at $100 the pair, but passed in, so when they were relisted at $80, I jumped in and did the Buy Now. By good fortune, the guy wanted pick up only and he worked about two minutes' drive from where I work, so I dropped by mid-morning, handed over my $80, and am now the proud owner of these two rather nice mdf sailing ships in 28mm scale


I will take some images of my own later - these are from the auction. I am very pleased with these for the princely sum of £20/USD22 each! There is a bit of work to do on them, including building up a number of ships guns that are included with the kits, and possibly adding some rigging - I am not 100% sure yet if I will do that or not.

Thats all for tonight - hopefully will have a few figures to post in a day or two, once my new individual bases arrive!

    I saw the Perry Sudanese at a recent show and they paint up splendidly … though you may need another box :-)

    Nice ships! I suspect that they could easily make an appearance in your pulp games. I have an order inbound from Perry too.

    The Sudanese are a nice kit to put together. Shame you have to wait for bases. I need another order of sand to base figures

    Those ships look good and a bit of a bargain too. Always nice when a package arrives as I had happen today, but couldn't remember exactly what I'd ordered until I opened it up!

    Good to receive some new toys to pay with- at any age. My last shipment from England took sixteen days - today I painted up the 15mm Imperial Troops- just great and worth the waiting time. Cheers. KEV.

      That's the plan Mark....after all, you have created all those Mediterranean coastal defence pieces...we need to get them into another game, and these ships provide the perfect scenario tool!
