Dont get TOO excited, the terrain has not been in an actual game - but I have laid it out on my 3 x 3 solo gaming table and taken some pictures of it alongside different figure collections......
Trenches and barbed wire laid out - as you can see, enough for both sides, or perhaps 5-6 feet if all laid out end to end...
One side of the trench network occupied by 20mm Nationalist Requetes militia
And in the opposing trenches, the Republican CNT/FAI Militia!
The Nationalists attack, supported by a couple of PzKfw I tanks
Next below, 20mm Plastic Soldier Company Russian infantry assaulting across no man's land
WWII 20mm Valiant British Infantry defending
Above and below - 28mm Bolsheviks in defence and attack
WWI in East Africa - Kings African Rifles in 28mm
by Brigade Games
28mm War of 1812 British Infantry by Perry Miniatures, gun is Victrix
And 25mm War of 1812 American infantry by Old Glory
Below are a couple of images of Spanish style buildings completed so far - a few more are WIP
Republican T26 with infantry support passing through a small village
Nationalist Regulares Moorish Infantry probing cautiously through town.
Thats all for tonight - I feel like my burst of scenery building is probably coming to an end, so some more figure painting may be next on the agenda. Meanwhile, the first figure order of the new year has been made - and another is close to fruition!
Outstanding trench line you have here, and it works across multiple eras which is a plus!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the visit and comment Steve!
DeleteThe trenches look great, you have me wanting to put some together now
ReplyDeleteThanks Scotty, you should!
DeleteThe trench adds a lot of versatility to scenario creation. From my own experience, it is best to do a load at once so that it matches, rather than coming back to expand 18 months later and it never quite looking right.
ReplyDeleteSage advice Norm, I think what I have is probably sufficient but I may look at doing a couple more pieces.....
DeleteLooks like your trenches will be seeing service in many different periods. Is Brigade Games among one of your orders?
ReplyDeleteThanks Jon, that's my plan. No Brigade this time, despite him having a few sales on recently
DeleteGreat looking terrain sir!
ReplyDeleteBest regards
Thank you Michal
DeleteSeeing them "in action" shows your planning to be useful in two scales paid off. Lots of uses, from Back of Beyond to Pulp!
ReplyDeleteThanks Joe, I think I could even get away with using them for 15mm!
DeleteMarvelous
ReplyDeleteThanks Greg and also for your helpful suggestions earlier!
DeleteIt looks good even if it isn’t in proper action 👍
ReplyDeleteCheers Matt, might try something small and solo soon....
DeleteThere is a lot more there than I thought there would be Keith. It certainly looks like it will be quite daunting to overcome.
ReplyDeleteThanks Lawrence...might give something a go one evening this week...
DeleteI admire both the look of the trenches and the speed of your production Keith. They look fabulous.
ReplyDeleteThanks Richard...helps having a fortnight off work and a lot of crappy weather!
DeleteYou have been busy. The buildings look great!
ReplyDeleteCheers Ray...not as nice as your Empire ones but a lot cheaper for sure!
DeleteNot proper action unless there are dice rolls….😀
ReplyDeleteTrenchs though lol good and functional.
Mea culpa, Stew! Thanks for the positive comments though 😆
DeleteNice work Kieth- your Trenches turned out well with the Dry Brushing- good to see your scratch Buildings too.
ReplyDeleteThanks Kev...the buildings are rather basic but will do for me. The trenches I am pretty happy with!
DeleteGreat looking terrain Kieth…
ReplyDeleteAll the best. Aly.
Thanks a lot Aly..the trenches are nice, the buildings a bit average compared with some others work, but they are adequate for what I require!
DeleteYou can't beat terrain like that which covers a number of periods and theatres, great stuff Keith.
ReplyDeleteCheers
Stu
Splendid looking scratch built trenches, I also remember cutting the expanded aluminium mesh in strips to make 28mm barbed wire, using them on multiple scales and periods is genius!
ReplyDeleteBest Iain
Thanks Iain...."genius" might be over stating it slightly but I am glad you like the idea!
