After much prevarication, I gave in and bought a nicely discounted late war 28mm deal from a local NZ bricks n mortar store. My justification is I have several times in the past looked, and looked, AND LOOKED at special deals, then when I finally decide I will buy them - someone else has beaten me to it!
So, if you click on the picture above, you may notice the price in the top right corner - 3 x IS II tanks PLUS 8 Warlord plastic infantry (I had not realized these were included) for the princely sum of $74 - that's about £30 to you, my son!
One full infantry sprue to make eight figures with a variety of heads and headwear, plus other bits and bobs, as well as a selection of weapons (below) - including the wonderful ATR which did such great work in my 15mm solo game!
Looks like I will be doing a bit of assembly work over the next few days!
Thats it for tonight - I am just back from a three-game session of FtF fantasy/magic games at Andrews - more on them in my next post in a couple of days' time!
A bargain!
ReplyDeleteI certainly think so Jon - even if I possibly don't have any actual use for them, right at the moment!
DeleteToday, I just snagged three 15mm Zvezda Matilda IIs in box for $2 plus shipping ($8 total) from ebay. I think I scored too but when will mine see the table?
DeleteWow, that beats me hands down Jon....but. I have my first IS II built.....!
DeleteYou have a shiny new project, now congratulations and get to it!
ReplyDeleteJeez, no rest for the wicked when you are around, Joe!
DeleteThat's a good bargain
ReplyDeleteI think so too Scotty
Delete£30 for all that's a bargain Keith, you should have bought 2!
ReplyDeleteThey only had the one Ray....or I might have!
DeleteSo cool!
ReplyDeleteI am pretty happy with these new additions Michal!
DeleteWell, once on the table, those beasts should tame any tigers in the neighborhood!
ReplyDeleteThat is my hope too, Ed!
DeleteA great deal and a bargain. Nice additions to your armies
ReplyDeleteIt was and they are...thanks Mark!
DeleteBargain. It would have been rude not to order them. Lol.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely, I had put it off far too long JBM!
DeleteThat is a very sweet deal, I can see why you went for it, far too good to turn down.
ReplyDeleteParticularly for a Scot, Donnie!
DeleteA nice purchase Keith, and I'll look forward to seeing these completed. Your other Soviet stuff is very nice indeed.
ReplyDeleteThanks Lawrence...as mentioned to Jon above, the first one has rolled over the production line!
DeleteI never find these type cheap bargains! So yes, that was me whining and full of jealousy :P
ReplyDeleteBut a trio of IS-2's.... hope your opponents have some big kats to face against them else these three heavyweights will be running rampant.
Looking forward to seeing them painted up mate.
Thanks Dai, I was happy with the deal, once I finally pushed "go"! Personally, I would prefer taking on the East Prussian Volksturm with these babies!
DeleteExcellent purchase Keith. Just the thing to run over your late war Germans 😁
ReplyDeleteThat's the plan Ben....nice to have Allied tank that can match the Tiger for a change!
DeleteWell you did well there my son! Hard not to resist such a good bargain, especially when you've missed out in the past. Now of course you will need some seriously Big Cats to try and deal with them... ;)!
ReplyDeleteThanks Steve, I think I will start with some FIBUA versus the Volksturm, and work my way up from there 😀
DeleteTotal bargain, I think my one Warlord IS2 cost about that!
ReplyDeleteBest Iain
Cheers Iain and yes, I can believe that!
