Recently Completed 28mm Additions.

Not so many words tonight as my last post - maybe I will get more comments left as a result!

First up are the three recently acquired IS II Red Army tanks

All three have the Guards emblem on the turret, plus the assorted three-digit numbers that come with the decal sheets. The first has the plastic commander in the main hatch.

The second has a fully closed up turret

And the third has a converted female commander in the secondary turret hatch

And here are a few images of all three tanks advancing across the steppe!

Secondly, I have completed the female Red Army soldiers 3d printed for me by Forge of Generals in Warsaw.

Officer with SMG

A series of rifle armed privates

And finally, an LMG gunner

The full group charging together.

I am very pleased with these 3d prints, once again, and am looking forward to working on the 85mm AA gun and crew, purchased from the same supplier.

Thats all for tonight and my last post of March 2025 - next up will hopefully be a mid-week solo game report.

  1. Deadly gun! Panzers don't like it :)

    1. Thanks Michal...in fact, it wasnt as deadly as we might think, as it was basically a 122mm artillery piece in a turret, rather than a purpose built AT gun....but if the shell hit you, it would still be unpleasant!

  2. Lovely work Keith, I think the three Russian tanks should make awesome opponents on the table for the Germans, the 3D printed female soldier have painted up really well, good sense of movement on them.

  3. Nice job on the IS II’s. I have just been playing a board system in which tanks can fire twice in a turn …… but the IS II can only fire once due to them handling 2 part ammunition. That was enough of a disadvantage for them to come off worse when facing the same number of Panthers and I think in this game, that will always be the case.

  9. The figures look great and those ISIIs look terrific. That green looks even better on the larger tanks like this.

  13. Excellent work on the tanks and a nice touch to have the Guards badge on the turret, not something you normally see. Those female soldiers look pretty cool and will strike fear into the Fascists I'm sure!

    1. They do indeed Aly, although Norm is correct, the two part artillery ammunition meant a low rate of fire vis a vis enemy tanks....the Russians just compensated by having 5 of them for every panzer, I guess!

  17. Great looking armour and infantry. You converted the latter from raw figures to well-painted beauties in short order!
