Swedish Livgarden til Hest

I made some steady progress on the GNW project over the weekend, finishing off the basing on these two elements of the Lifeguard Regiment this evening, with the remaining six undercoated and ready to be worked through this week.

In other news, a small packet from Hasslefree Miniatures posted on 30 July arrived today - another pretty impressive journey time, although as with the Anvil Industries,. this was a very small, light weight pack - a total of three miniatures!

  1. Wow, great looking unit. Your army is getting very impressive, each unit very dramatic. The 'vee' shape in the basing scheme is really paying off.

    1. Thank you Joe. I decided I didn't need to mention the V shape again, but thanks for your affirmation!

  4. Great work once again Keith and good to see the painting is ticking over nicely. Mine has stalled but at least some gaming has resumed!

  6. Nice job Keith, and the first image that comes to my mind when I think of Swedish GNW cavalry.

    1. Thanks Lawrence - I can see light at the end of the cavalry tunnel! In truth, most of my Swedish cavalry should look like this but - blue on blue - it just sounds bad, doesn't it?! I prefer a bit of variety :)

    1. Thanks Kev. The two packets I have received have been very small and light weight....I am still waiting for the larger ones from both the US and UK, plus the very first order I did, also a small pack of some heads for conversions, which is coming from the US too.

    1. ..... and on ... and on ... and on Stew - its a bit like death and taxes - more fun than either of those of course, but wont stop till I physically cant hold the brush or my eyesight is totally gone!

  9. Lovely Lifgard, Keith. Interesting that you paint in such small batches; I usually paint several units at a time.

    1. Thanks Peter. I think it has changed over the years...I used to paint lager batches of infantry but nowadays, I find it easier to do one or two bases at a time. Constant measurable progress I find keeps me motivated...looking at twelve horses that all needed their tack painted would probably put me off even starting! I can't imagine doing thirty six or forty eight cavalry figures in a single batch.....
