Here is the latest work off the painting desk - a support weapon for the French force plus a few more Pulp characters
French Dragons Portes Hotchkiss Machine Gun
Bad Squiddo figure painted as part of the "Blue" Warlord Chinese contingent
Hasslefree martial artist on left in Japanese red v's Pulp Figures figure on the right in Warlord Chinese grey and yellow
Last of the "desert" Pulp Figures She Wolves - the rest will be painted in black SS uniform colour scheme
Hasslefree Countess Mia - I am planning for het to be "La Contessa" and a character in the Italian contingent, as she looks suitably elegant...
And next, the images from a couple of walks completed on 29 Dec - still got a few more to come, AND we are off again tomorrow :)
Walk one was reached after a drive of approximately an hour to the south east of Auckland
Views of the surrounding Waikato countryside from the top of the viewing platform at the summit of the hill
A lot of recent work has obviously been done on the pathways
We then drove for about twenty minutes towards the west, to the small town of Ngaruawahia. The walk here was up to a dam built in the twenties to augment the towns water supply
A sign explaining the works and why they were carried out
That seems like a good place to leave it today - hope you are still enjoying these rural scenes, as I still have a couple of days worth of walks to share!
More excellent minis! Really love your far East project :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful landscapes too!
Best
Thank you Michal!
DeleteLiked the figures and really enjoyed seeing the walking photos too.
ReplyDeleteThanks TGM....more to follow 😊
DeleteWow, great minis once again Keith, with La Contessa looking very striking in here B&W outfit! Lovely scenery which is always nice to see and much better than our walk yesterday which at times felt like we were crossing the Somme though liquid mud in places.
ReplyDeleteVivid description of your slog through the mud, Steve!
DeleteCheers Steve...the Hasslefree sculpting is incredibly fine and detailed. I am glad you enjoy seeing the sun!
DeleteKeith! You are cranking out figures as fast as your Hotchkiss cranks out rounds! The Contessa is sublime as is your vista photo from the bush reserve.
ReplyDeleteThanks Jon, it's a lot easier to paint half a dozen individual figures twice a week than it is to turn out a 52 figure unit like your recent work!
DeleteGreat work on the figures, there are certain to be interesting aar's with all the pretty toys. Your walking tours continue to afford a much needed view of somewhere that is not presently drizzling.
ReplyDeleteThank you Joe....no rain here for two or three weeks although early in December we had about a solid week of torrential rain.....
DeleteGreat stuff Keith, this project is really coming along, great choice of colours for the martial artists. Here's a challenge for you, I am looking for a Japanese/Shinto priest for a 'small' 28mm project have you spotted one in your travels?
ReplyDeleteCheers
Stu
Cheers Stu. Re the Shinto priest, not that I recall....would the Warlord Erewhon range maybe have one? They certainly have a Samurai contingent? I just Googled 28mm Shinto Priest and there was a hit on Etsy...probably a 3D printed figure that is quite expensive...but if you only need one, you might be happy with it? Otherwise, Dixon seems to have a huge Samurai range including lots of monks (I don't know if a monk might be an adequate substitute fir a priest?)
DeletePerry do a big Samurai range as well, worth a look?
DeleteBest Iain
Thanks both, I have spotted a couple in my travels that will fit with what I have in mind, it might need a couple of tweaks but happy with the purchases... More to follow :-)
DeleteEnjoying the rural scenery almost as much as your great looking figures.
ReplyDeleteThanks Mark! I am pleased you like them 😊
DeleteSplendid new additions to your project Keith…
ReplyDeleteAs always lovely scenic views…
All the best. Aly
Thanks Aly, I hope you get to see the sun before the end of the month .......
DeleteExcellent additions
ReplyDeleteThank you Scotty
DeleteMore lovely work Keith, with the usual variety of figures and poses. The Hotchkiss in particular looks great.
ReplyDeleteThanks Lawrence - those Crusader figures are very nice sculpts and quite similar in style to Copplestone et al, so they fit in well.
DeleteLovely varied batch of painting!
ReplyDeleteBest Iain
Thanks Iain, I am glad you like them all.....
DeleteGreat looking MMG and crew - and Pulps as well, Keith. I do like the lovely Contessa! Great nature scenes too!
ReplyDeleteThanks on all counts Dean!
DeleteGreat stuff. I’m hoping that I’ll be able to crank out the figures like you do the next months.
ReplyDeleteThe contessa looks little like a sword and sorcery villain to me 😀
Cheers Stu....I thought she looked a bit like Sophia Loren!
