This is the third Wargames Factory/Warlord plastic figure battalion to muster off the painting desk. Another non-standard (ie not wearing dark green faced red) unit, these guys are in white, faced red.
The grenadiers' mitres are "speculative" ie I made them up!
Next up should be the five figure cavalry squadron - expect them to appear in a couple of days' time.
Ohhh. Thats beautiful unit!
ReplyDeleteThanks Michal - glad you like them!
DeleteSplendid. The mitres look great even if you did make them up. Lol.
ReplyDeleteThanks JBM!
DeleteNice work there Kieth on the new Infantry unit- your setting a great standard with your painting- very impressive. Regards. KEV.
ReplyDeleteThank you Kev
DeleteGreat looking infantry, mitres and all!
ReplyDeleteBest Iain
Thanks a lot Iain.
DeleteVery sharp looking regiment, Keith!
ReplyDeleteThanks Jon, I liked this colour combination
DeleteVery nice, Keith! Grenadier officer - super.
ReplyDeleteThank you Valentine I am glad you like them.
DeleteSpeculative or not, they look the biz!
ReplyDeleteCheers Ray!
DeleteGreat unit Keith. As for the mitres, who is going to know? They look fab.
ReplyDeleteThanks Richard, that's pretty much what I thought too!
DeleteA white-coated battalion always looks smart. Beautiful work Keith.
ReplyDeleteThanks Lawrence...given those criteria, you should be a fan of the Austrians!
DeleteA great looking addition. One of the benefits of the Russians at this time is the very non standard coat colours in the army
ReplyDeleteThanks Neil, yes, I totally agree - heaps more variety than the Swedes, that's for sure!
DeleteIt is really rather nice to see the Russians in something other than green faced red, which does make this period dare I say more interesting visually. Great work as always:).
ReplyDeleteThanks Steve, I am glad you agree with my uniform philosophy so far....but I really must paint a few more in green and red! (Not the next unit though, they are in red faced blue, with bearskin mitre caps!)
DeleteCranking them out! Nice job. 😀
ReplyDeleteThank you Stew
DeleteNicely done Keith 👍
ReplyDeleteCheers Matt
DeleteExcellent work!
ReplyDeleteThanks a lot Chris!
DeleteThese guys are the business Keith…
ReplyDeleteYet another lovely non standard uniform… you’re army is going to be quite striking with these splashes of colour throughout it.
All the best. Aly.
Thanks Aly, I think we are on the same page when it comes to variety and attractiveness of the uniforms!
DeleteVery nice, the white uniforms look fantastic.
ReplyDeleteCheers
Stu
Cheers Stu, I am happy you like the white uniforms!
DeleteNice whites! Hard to get right, but they are spot on.
ReplyDeleteThank you Norm, I think after forty plus years I am finally getting the hang of this painting lark!
DeleteWow! These are stunning, Keith - all of them, particularly the grenadiers in their lovely mitres. I did a double take when you said they're Warlord Games/Wargames Factory. The ones I've seen before looked a bit more static; your brushwork has animated them well.
ReplyDeleteThanks Dean -unfortunately the original designers went with ten bodies exactly the same then two that can be "customised" per sprue - I would prefer two or three different marching poses, but at least the heads and sword hangers are separate parts, so you can vary the angle of the latter, and have the figures looking in different directions etc. I also mixed in a few different heads from the companion cavalry set, to help add some variety. Little things like different hair colour can also help make them look less "the same"!
