Woodland Injuns.....

Over the past week or two, between other burst of activity, I have worked my way through the last 12 of the 28 Crusader Miniatures Woodland Indian figures I bought earlier in the year, and here they are:

There is not an awful lot to say about them really - it's been quite nice, being able to "make up" the colours of their clothing, accoutrements and facial paint - no reference books required! I decided some would not have war paint - I don't know if that is historically accurate and I am not overly concerned either - I like the look of them all, which is all that matters to me really!

Thanks for your visit and I hope you have time in your busy day to leave a quick comment!

  1. These are quite a fearsome lot. If I was out on the the frontier, I would sleep with BOTH eyes open.

  2. You have a very decent war band, very nicely done. The one shooting from behind the tree stump is a wee cracker, great work all round.

    1. Thanks Donnie, for the skirmish level type games I vaguely have in mind, 24 figures is plenty 👍

    1. Thanks Lawrence...I seem to recall reading the favoured colours for war paint were red, black and yellow.... they look good to me, anyway!

  6. The bright white war paint really pops. Looks cool and ghostly. It’d be what I would want. 😀

    1. Thanks Stew - I used some creative license and imagined how I (or an Indian warrior) might paint a skull on his face, to scare his enemy!

  7. Great looking Injuns, Keith! I always have to check posts to see which manufacturer these are. They all look very similar (and good). Warpaint is a must for these guys.

    2. ohhh no ...you've lost the LoTM...you need to find them. Thats a game/scenario you need to play. The "La Longue Carabine" is definitely needed to fight off these guys!

  13. Nice work Keith. I think between you and me and a couple of others in the group we have enough Indian figures to represent the entire native population of North America in the mid-18th century.

    1. Well, isn't that often the way Mark?! I think you have said more than once your old mate Jim had multiple battalions of Pavlovsky guards...and John Berry had hordes of FPW Prussian Guard infantry!
