Some More SCW Rolls Off The Painting Table

I finally painted the second (of three) HaT plastic 1/72 horse drawn supply wagons over the weekend, and while I was in the mood for vehicles, I assembled the last two Nationalist tanks, a PzKfw I and a PzKfw II (yes, I know, but I made a mistake and bought two, so in my SCW, Hitler has sent at least 2 x PzKfw II to Franco - call it artistic license!)

Some more Nationalist Moors are nearing completion and, miracle of miracles, it appears as though the Brigade Games figures, ordered on 4 July 2021, are about to turn up......

It's the same model as the Nationalist one completed a couple of weeks ago, obviously

So, to give it a bit of variety, the canvas cover is khaki rather than grey/white, and I added the Republican national flag

I went back to the Nationalist one and added their version of the flag too!

I also dispensed with the passenger, as I thought they looked a bit squashed on the first version

The Pannzerkampfwagon I

And the Panzerkampfwagon II

All done for tonight - thanks for taking time to look and leave a comment!

  1. Game ! So many toys shown ,there must be a game involved or they --the new units will all run away at once! Seriously, nice work.

  2. Yeah, I know Joe - I might try a trial solo run with what I can remember of the 1914 rules we used the other night, just to see how it goes. Thanks for the constant "motivation" to get these into action!

    1. Fwiw, yesterday I ordered a copy of 1914 - was looking for a PDF but Great Escape Games apparently no longer put their stuff on Wargamevault. GEG's website said it was their last copy!?
Anyway, I thought it was a ruleset worth investigating (you could let Mr B. know that I would be interested in taking part in a game - see what he says??:))
And your SCW stuff can take the role of the forces of Tropicana in my theoretical imaginations campaign:)

    1. Thanks Kev. These three all suited my level of modelling skill, and, more importantly, my lavel of patience, ie they have about ten to twelve parts and take a few minutes to put together!

  4. Excellent project additions, Keith. Oh, your long lost Brigade Games’ order looks to be making its home leg journey. Is it too soon to celebrate?

    1. Thanks Neil...I meant to do a comparison shot.. It's quite amazing how much smaller the Pz I is compared with the Pz II!

  8. I have always like the PzKpfw 1 as it always seemed ahead of its time when compared with allied tanks. Lovely work it and the transport wagons Keith.

    1. Thanks Lawrence, some of the British tanks with the Christie suspension are quite cool too, although others do look a bit like some kids drawing of a tank!

  9. Like others, have a soft spot for the early/interwar tanks--a time when the Pzkw II was one of the "big dogs"!

  10. You have to wait as long as the brigade games order took to arrive to open it and paint anything from it. Just bc it’ll be funny. 😀

    Nice job on the carts.

  11. Great looking wagon! And typical panzer porn, having more of the Panzer II's than were ever there :) Completely unbalance all the games :)
Good luck with your package. I hope it arrives safely.

  12. Thanks on all counts Ben! From what I read, there were precisely NO PzKfw II in Spain....but I only read that AFTER I bought two😀

  13. Lovely work on the carts and tanks again Keith. Fingers crossed that the parcel does finally arrive with you after so long. They could have have rowed across to deliver it to you in the time it's taken!
