Another day, another brief post - my SCW reinforcements from Jorge at Panzer Garage in Spain have been delivered - and very nice they look too!
These are extra units I was unable to complete using the Minairons or other ranges.
(As an aside, does anyone in the UK know if Rolf at RH/Liberation Models is still operating? He has some Bandaras 20mm SCW figures listed on his site, and I have emailed him a couple of times but with no success. This is strange as I bought a fair bit of stuff off him a few years back - 20mm Iraq/Afghanistan combatants for both sides....)
So back to the show and tell, here are a few images.
The packs are - LG (The Legion) and - GC (Civil Guards). SCW3 are five extra militiamen.
Here are the Civil Guard figures with a partially painted Irregular Miniatures CG Officer - not sure if the uniform colour is quite right?
And this is the contents of one of the Legion Command packs. I got two of each Legion pack, with the original intention of painting half up as Republican regulars, as the uniforms on both sides were reasonably interchangeable in appearance - fore and aft caps, webbing equipment etc - just the colours define which side they are on! Not sure if I will still do this or not.....
Here is a link to the site, if anyone is in the market for 20mm WWII or SCW stuff
And from the site, painted examples of the Legion command pack as per above:
Thanks for visiting and an extra big THANKYOU for leaving a comment!
Hooray for an overseas package!
ReplyDeleteMy sentiments exactly, Jon! And just in time for the weekend, too!
DeleteTwo of your civil guard seem to be holding hands - which is nice. Will the unit flag be a rainbow one? lol.
ReplyDeleteHow dare you cast such aspersions JBM?! I don't think I will give them a flag......
DeleteAlways exciting having figures arrive.
ReplyDeleteIt sure is, Peter!
DeleteOhhhhh, New stuff for painting!!!
ReplyDeleteI know, exciting, isn't it!
DeleteThe joys of an order arriving, especially with the issues you guys have been facing of late. Fine figures and I look forward to seeing them in action once painted:).
ReplyDeleteThanks Steve, painting should not take to long, seeing them in action....that might take a bit longer!
DeleteWoh I can’t keep up with your painting and progress Keith, more painting on the cards π
ReplyDeleteI think your productivity is pretty much on a par with mine, Matt, but thanks anyway!
DeleteAlways wonderful for the postman to bring stuff to the house. Nice additions to your collection, and a great link as well as the Show & Tell. Thanks. BTW, go with the sharing of regular castings told off by color.
ReplyDeleteThanks Joe, the thrill of new arrivals is one of the joys of our hobby!
DeleteLovely to see new figures arrive, look forward to seeing them painted up
ReplyDeleteCheers Scotty, it's great to see these arrive and I am sure you won't have to wait too long to see the first painted examples!
DeleteSometimes, receiving new set of figs is as much of a boost as is completing a set.
ReplyDeleteIt certainly is Ed...in fact, given the size of so many oeoples lead piles, it seems like acquisition is the bigger thrill to many!
DeleteDarn right!
DeleteLol....you would be a prime example of the phenomenon, Jon!
DeleteEd said it best. π
DeleteI’ll just echo that thought.
Copy cat Stew ππ At least you didn't just type "ditto" I guess!
DeleteThey look nice Keith, and at least the Spanish postal service is more reliable than the Royal Mail at the moment.
ReplyDeleteCheers Lawrence and very true!
DeleteAlways good to get a parcel in the post with hobby toys inside. I LOL'd here at work reading JBM's comment and agree with his take.
ReplyDeleteI don't think the Guardia Civile would be very amused with these slurs on their machismo, Dai!
DeleteAhhh the joys of getting a parcel in the mail- it's still fun- but also stressful when it's late!!
ReplyDeleteBut once it DOES arrive, John, you forget how long it took to get to you!
DeleteA parcel. It must feel like Christmas.
ReplyDeleteAlmost better than Christmas Richard, I picked it all and know exactly what it is!
DeleteWith apologies to Mary Poppins "One of my favourite things - brown paper packages with little tin men." π
ReplyDeleteHaha...mine too Ben!
DeleteHurrah for shiny new toys…
ReplyDeleteI look forward to seeing them all painted up…
All the best. Aly
Cheers Aly! They won't, of course, end up as shiny as you like themπ
DeleteA Wargamers Red Cross Package ;-)
ReplyDeleteHaha, indeed Stu, and much more exciting than condensed milk and five year old chocolate!
DeleteGood to see you received your order. The last time I had anxiety waiting for an order was an ebay purchase of a guitar from China. Only took 4 weeks but I was stressing.
ReplyDeleteThanks Dean, nice to see you back on Blogger too. I guess whilst waiting for your guitar to turn up you might have been fretting.....??! Lol.
DeleteThere is nothing better than a heavy mail order package arriving...and then unwrapping it...its Christmas all over again. lol
ReplyDeleteI think it's a feeling we all know, GW!
