Finishing Off The Royal Artillery

These are the last two 15mm FoW 25lb field guns - not a lot to say about them really, they are basically the same as the previous two. I swapped a couple of the crew around but they are in much the same positions. The resin bases are all slightly different, but fundamentally similar. Having said all that, they are nice models and figures, fitted together well and painted up quite nicely without too much effort, so I am pleased I did them.

The officer on the second gun is a spare peter Pig figure I have had kicking around for years.

Not sure what's next - watch this space. I now have 4 days off work as we mark Easter in New Zealand with public holidays on both Good Friday and Easter Monday. Time for Hot Cross Buns and chocolate eggs!

    2. Do double strength artillery formations still get the ridiculously huge rectangle of death to place?

    3. Sorry, Dave, I wouldn't know, I have only played actual FoW rules a couple of times in twenty years, I never really liked them! My 15mm WWII figures have been used mainly in CrossFire and, very recently, in a boardgame called Heroes of Normandie.

  2. Yup it’s Pâques for us here too. Glad to see you finally found some gainful employment for the PP officer.

  3. Grand looking artillery. The basing with the suggestion of a gun pit is cleverly done. So, what's next in the desert?

  5. Fine work once again Keith. For my games 25pdrs rarely feature on the table, except for the Western Desert. It does remind me that I need to add them to the 'to-do' pile...

    1. Thanks Steve snd I agree...I doubt these will be required on the table very often, if at all! It was more a case of, I was gifted them a couple of years ago, so I really should paint them!

  9. Lovely work Keith. The 25pdr is my favourite artillery piece of WWII, probably because I always liked the look of them along with those quad tractors.

  19. I haven't had a Hot Cross Bun in yonks... Toasted with butter and a cup of tea - perfect easter brekkie!

Love the guns! I often switched out a Peter Pig sculpt for Battlefront duplicates in their sets. I especially liked the officer have a cuppa.

    1. Cheers Dai - yep, certainly had that breakfast a few times in the last fortnight - my wife ate the last of the currant (pun intended!) batch of HCB this morning (I had creamy mushrooms on toast, so don't think I missed out!)
I have that set of Peter Pig guys standing around drinking tea - but don't tell the Americans, they have a real issue with British soldiers drinking tea - see Bridge Too Far AND Band of Brothers!
