As mentioned in my previous post, here are the ACW Rebel infantry I finished off for my mate Rick. He wanted them in a mixture of "ragged" or "butternut" style uniforms.
Rick had done the base colours, so I just stuck with the mixture he had started.
Not sure of the manufacturer but I believe he may have got them from the US?
The "command' figures
Two NCO's and a standard bearer
Finally, for this post, a quick update on the recent weather in Auckland
And just what is needed to cool down - a few home-grown strawberries from the garden and some ice cream!
Jolly nice of you to finish those lads off for your mate. Christmas with strawberries and ice cream however…((shakes head)). lol.
ReplyDeleteThanks JBM......I still feel the same way about Christmas and Summer holidays being analogous!
DeleteStrawberry and ice-cream. Yummy. We are two days from winter, had our first dusting where it was all white for a morning...then gone.
ReplyDeleteGood work on the figures. Butternut is so much fun to recreate.
Thanks Joe....your winter must start late, I would think it would start late Nov!
DeleteNice work on the Rebs Keith, not sure what figure range they are from but they look very decent indeed. Nothing like home grown strawberries, I had a good haul this year but unfortunately all done for this year, temperature in the North of Scotland not quite up to yours!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Donnie...a little easier to grow here than in Scotland, I am sure.....or I would not have much success with them!
DeleteGlad you like the ACW stuff too 👍
Good looking, Rebs. I cannot source the figures either but Rebs in greatcoat are not often seen. Fresh strawberries and ice cream are a good way to cool down.
ReplyDeleteThanks Jon, I hope Rick likes what I have done with the Reb figures!
DeleteGreat work sir!
ReplyDeleteThank you Michal 😊
DeleteWeather is heading in the opposite direction in these parts, but given the holiday season, we share the festive colors of the strawberries and ice cream. Good looking "ragged" bunch of secessionists, there, too.
ReplyDeleteCheers Ed, hope you enjoy your festive snow!
DeleteNice work on the Rebs Keith
ReplyDeleteThanks a lot Scotty
DeleteNice looking Rebs Keith... the strawberries and ice cream looks pretty good too.
ReplyDeleteThanks Richard and yes, pretty nice strawberries, even if I do say so myself 🍓 🍓
DeleteNicely painted figures.
ReplyDeleteThanks Peter.
DeleteLovely work on the figures Keith. I hope to get into a few 10mm ACW figures next year so it is great to see your work on these.
ReplyDeleteCheers Lawrence....10mm ACW, eh? That sounds interesting!
DeleteGreat work on the figures and the strawberries Keith.
ReplyDeleteThanks Ben, I think the strawberries probably take slightly less effort.....and are certainly appreciated more than my figures are by my wife and daughter 😀
DeleteNice work on those figures Keith which do look suitably ragged, as befits our notion of the Rebs! Temps not quite as high as yours, but certainly warm for the time of year, or maybe this is what we will have to get used to?
ReplyDeleteThanks Steve....they were handed over to Rick today and he seems happy enough with them!
DeleteNice characters, sometimes I think we have got too used to the precision of plastics and the sort of generic ‘look’ that goes with that. A LOVELY 8 degrees here :-)
ReplyDeleteCheers Norm...good point too, although I personally probably prefer a lot of the plastic figures to the older metal ones nowadays... I had that conversation with a gaming buddy quite recently, actually. I wonder what others think....
DeleteLovely looking rebels and strawberries! It's funny, I like plastic figures but sometimes it's nice to paint maybe not quite so anatomically correct but characterful older metal ones, he says both having his cake and eating it whilst removing splinters from my backside!
ReplyDeleteBest Iain
Lol, a nice mix if allegories (?)there Iain! I agree with you, both rules if figures have their attractions.
DeleteGreat looking ACW figures and dessert, Keith. I've yet to get into ACW, but may someday.
ReplyDeleteThanks is Dean, a bit odd, you have never been tempted by ACW, given its importance in your country's history? Still plenty time though...it would work well as a skirmish Era like Sharpes Practice
DeleteNice looking toys Keith…
ReplyDeleteAnd delicious looking strawberries…😋
The weather here is windy and grey… With a hint of…. Grey.
All the best. Aly
Thanks Aly....and a Merry Chrito you, too...."I'm dreaming of a grey Christmas" as Bing Crosby might have crooned... 😉😘
DeleteCHRISTMAS 🎄....bloody phone!!
ReplyDeleteACW, strawberries and cream! AN eclectic mix- nice figures and dessert too!
ReplyDeleteCheers John....glad you enjoyed my post!
