Five Copplestone Gals and some Flash Motors

Over the last few days I have painted up the five Copplestone Swell Dolls that arrived in house recently. To show them off to best advantage, I thought I would pose them next to a few of the ...ahem..."several" (read "far too many") Matchbox "Yesteryear" cars I have accumulated for the Pulp Project over the last few months ...I think I really do have all that I need now...or, maybe just one Bugati for the Italians!

I have not really decided if these figures will have specific characters/nationalities (except the obvious one) - they may just be "extras"

Tweed clad lady with a 1930 Duesenberg

Stylishly hatted lady next to a 1938 Lagonda

Overcoated lady and a 1931 Stutz Bearcat

Glamorous in party frock next to a 1928 Mercedes

Fifi the French lady, with a 1938 Jaguar

That's the lot for tonight - skeletons are making steady progress and should appear on here shortly.

  1. At least the ladies have autos to escape the skeletons of the evil cult boss.
    Nice brushwork, neat car colllection.

  4. Well done Kieth on painting the Lady Pulp Fiction Figures and showing us your collection of the era automobiles. Stay well there in NZ - we are having a break from the rain after a week of it - bad floods to the north of the state of New South Wales and Queensland. Regards. KEV.

    1. Thanks Kev. Glad you are finally seeing the back of the rain...we have had a lot of coverage on our tv news of the flooding there, I am glad you are not in the worst affected area.

  6. They look great Keith, and I like the way you have posed them next to the vintage vehicles.

    1. Thanks Lawrence - for some reason they are a bit on the diminutive side for Copplestone figures - one or two of the cars look a tad on the big side next to them - but in general they work well. I have a couple Bad Squiddo RAF female drivers and they fit perfectly in the seats of the cars...just have to choose which ones to put them in!

    2. Figures & cars are nice but the cars really are overscale (I know it's "only wargaming", just my modeller's foibles showing :)

    4. Hi Andrew - yes, for some reason these particular Copplestone figures are a bit smaller than his usual and make the scale difference more noticeable - the normal full size chunky figures look pretty good next to the vehicles...honest!
