As mentioned last time, this is the penultimate section of ten 1st Corps German infantry for my 28mm Blitzkrieg project. Very happy with how they have turned out, once again - they are basically the dame ten figures, with the exception of the NCO, who (I think) is a slightly different pose in each of the four sections.
Work on the last of these very nice figures is underway, as is the painting of the remainder of the 3D printed motorcycle troops, whilst an email has been received, advising the extra motorcyclists from 1st Corps have left the depot in England and are en route to Neu Zeeland!
So, without further ado, here are the pics:
Full section (less MG34 team)
NCO and rifleman
Followed by two lots of three riflemen.
And finally, the LMG support crew.
Well, that was interesting - Blogger has changed again and I uploaded the photos in a slightly different way than heretofore - but at least, it still worked ok! As always, thanks for dropping by and hopefully you have the time and inclination to leave a comment - I note that my comments v page visits is running at around 15-20% ie last time I had 19 comments from 83 views - and that's a bit above the normal ratio I think - so come on, all you lurkers, leave a comment this time (unless you are a bot of course!)
Another great looking bunch of blitzkrieg Germans! Do you actually need any more or is it just for fun now?
ReplyDeleteBest Iain
"Need" is a strange verb (or noun) in this context Iain. The fact is, I bought a First Wave unit pack from 1st Corps and it came with all these figures - so I need to paint them all! I don't really know what size of games we will end up playing so it is quite feasible i will "need" them all. I probably don't need 9 or 10 motorcycles - that's just for fun really!
DeleteNicely done Keith, interesting three man bases which I guess makes movement a bit easier 😀
ReplyDeleteI copied the basing from our mate Rick, who already has Brits and Frogs ready for the off, Matt. It also works well with the ten-man squads - a two- man LMG team, a two-man NCO team and 2 x three- man schutzen teams!
DeleteCrackin work Keith! I'm enjoying your WWII project. Keep 'em coming.
ReplyDeleteCheers Ray...I will!
DeleteWell done on the figures. They look great.
ReplyDeleteThanks a lot Mark
DeleteContinued fine work, Keith. Are the tunics getting greener? I should look into 1st Corps for WWII figures. Mine are all BTD. Yeah, I noticed Blogger changed the image upload interface too.
ReplyDeleteThanks Jon. The uniforms are all using the same Vallejo paint, so should not be getting greener, hopefully...maybe it's just the lighting in the images? I will do a full parade upon completion and we can see if there is any noticeable difference!
DeleteLooking fine as always.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your kind words Greg
DeleteGreat look. I like the early war years uniform best. Action soon?
ReplyDeleteThanks Joe... maybe get a game in when they are completed
DeleteGreat looking early-war Germans, Keith. I love the look as it reminds me of the 1/35th Tamiya kits I had when I was growing up in Hawaii so many years ago.
ReplyDeleteThank you Dean...I probably had the same ones...in fact, I had ideas for skirmish level games using Tamiya as a teenager...but they never came to anything!
DeleteBeautiful work sir!
ReplyDeleteCheers Michal
DeleteLovely work on these Keith. Any chance we get a view of the completed force so far?
ReplyDeleteThanks Scotty...I am planning a parade but I could do a "so far" group shot!
DeleteAnother lovely batch of early war Germans. Great stuff. Blogger really is a mystery at times, and I live in fear that one day it will completely drop its bundle and wipe all our pictures. I'm waiting for the day when they start charging us a monthly fee.
ReplyDeleteI know, all those thoughts have crossed my mind too, Lawrence....it would be a sad say if Google ever discontinue Blogger...
DeleteI have just been hit by a bot for 4 weeks, viewings went from 12,000 a month to 28,000 …. Unless of course the nation responsible for the increase has just made wargaming the national sport! The figures have now dropped back …… a shame when even the bots can’t be bothered🙂
ReplyDeleteLol...at one point I had quite a spike in hits from Sweden Norm, although it coincided with my GNW project and the inclusion of a few Swedish words in blog titles etc.....so could have been legit??? There was no increase in comments though, which makes me wonder if there were really dozens of Swedish wargamers temporarily following my blog!
DeleteGreat result on those figures Keith.
ReplyDeleteA 15-20% comment rate is very good I think. Sometimes when I visit blogs I do not comment as I have nothing extra to add to what other visitors have already said. I guess I am just lazy 😁
Thanks Ben...I think you may be being a bit hard on yourself.... and thanks for making the effort to leave a comment here!!
DeleteFine units again Keith and nice to see them on parade in another post (playing catch up at present). As for Bots, page views etc, I never get that many, with the odd exception depending upon topic, so don't bother looking anymore. Years ago I was rather popular in Russia it would seem;)!
ReplyDeleteLol. Thanks Steve...I think many of us have had a spell being popular in Russia...or was it actually Ukraine? They used to be a hotbed of dodginess on the internet at one time....
DeleteLovely additions Keith…
ReplyDeleteI’m looking forward to the parade…And your first game.
All the best. Aly
Thanks Aly...hoping I can get a game in before Christmas
DeleteYou are truly a painting machine Keith! (I think you and Jonathan both show crazy output from your hobby desks)
ReplyDeleteGreat looking squad and close to the finish line from the sound of things. Time for a game?
I am humbled to be mentioned in the same terms as Mr Freitag, but I think it's a bit of an exaggeration Dai! A.nd when it comes to games, he leaves me in his dust, too...some weeks, Jon has more games than I manage in a month!
