A Couple of Pulp Chinese and New RCW Artillery

As mentioned in my previous post, I have also completed these two Chinese figures for the Pulp Project, one by Pulp Figures and the other from the Copplestone Back of Beyond range. They are both great sculpts, full of character, and will be perfect opponents for the ladies of various other contingents, when the time comes (they will probably be more than a match for most of the men too!)

The figure on the left is Copplestone, that on the right Pulp Figures

Four views of the ambidextrous swordswoman

Bob Murch is a great sculptor of individual figures like these

Here are four views of the Copplestone figure

I think we all agree, Mark Copplestone is another great figure sculptor

Lastly this evening, I assembled RCW field gun and tidied up the Bolshevik crew

Painting may be a bit in the future but this is going to be a great addition to the forces of freedom, equality and brotherhood!

    1. Thanks Steve - lots more to go, plus the extras en route from Noble Knight in the US when they eventually arrive, but next up will be some Italian and French troops

    1. Thanks Kev, it's pretty warm here currently but WET. We have had rain for over a week, although the gaps between showers are gradually lengthening

  3. You are gathering a very good collection of characters. That gun / crew is going to make a nice base.

    1. Thanks Norm! In all honesty, I probably have too many characters but they are fun to paint!

    1. Yes he is Jon. Hopefully I am headed towards a game or two next year, but who knows...like many collections, once completed, they may languish in their storage boxes, not seeing the light of day!

  5. I wanted to get some of Mr Murch’s cavemen but the postage costs eventually put me off. His sculpting is excellent. Really like all of the stuff you’ve had from him - full of character.

    1. Hi JBM. Totally understand your hesitancy...but you can get a lot of his range from Caliver, and any they don't have can be bought from Northstar...that's where all mine came from!

  6. Very characterful young ladies… I’m sure that they will cause some trouble.
The gun is very nice as well… I look forward to seeing it all painted up.

    All the best. Aly

    1. Thanks Scotty. It might be a wee while till I get around to painting it, but hopefully the results will be worth the wait.

  9. Not familiar with the Pulp line of figs, but I have dabbled in Copplestone: they are fantastic! And of course, your rendering of these warrior maidens does both sets of sculpts justice.

    1. Thanks Ed - they are both nice ranges - I just wish Mark Copplestone was adding to his ranges but what he has produced are very nice indeed. Bob Murch also has some nice historical ranges - he has some greens of 1066 Normans on his website that look impressive!

  10. Lovely work Keith, and they are great figures as you say. I especially like the lady with two swords; very dynamic.

    1. Cheers Lawrence, yes, she is probably the most dynamic of the ones I have in hand, although there is another standing in a Kung Fu/Karate type stance (or whatever the Chinese version of unarmed combat is...!)

    2. Um, that would actually be Kung Fu........:)

    1. Hi Stew, when they are individual characters like these I tend to paint in smaller numbers

  14. Some great new additions to the force Keith.
Batches of two certainly get them to the table quickly.

    1. Haha yes that's true Stu...or, at least, gets them table-ready...when they will actually see any action is another matter entirely!
